Samsung Lions closer Oh Seung-hwan (41-Samsung Lions) has been designated for assignment to the second team.
The Samsung Lions have designated pitcher Kim Si-hyun for assignment to the first team in exchange for removing Oh Seung-hwan 먹튀검증 from the first team roster ahead of their 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League game against the KT Wiz at KT Wiz Park in Suwon at 5 p.m. on April 18.
This is the second time this season that Oh Seung-hwan has been sent to Gyeongsan after being designated for assignment last month. Seung-hwan Oh came into the game in the bottom of the eighth inning against KT in Suwon on April 16, with Samsung leading 6-4 at the time. Instead of pulling pitcher Kim Dae-woo, the Samsung bench sent Oh Seung-hwan to the mound.
Seung-hwan Oh took the mound and threw a fastball to Jung Jun-young, but allowed a bunt single. He then faced Park Kyung-soo, and after a five-pitch battle, he hit a double over the center field fence. Kim Hyun-joon, who is known for his wide defensive range, made a great effort to slam his body into the fence on the walking track, but was unable to make the catch. In the meantime, Jeong Jun-young came home from first base to narrow the gap to one run.
KT continued to put runners on first and third as Ahn Chi-young laid down a sacrifice bunt against Oh Seung-hwan. The KT bench was determined to tie the game.
But then the Samsung bench made a move. Pitching coach Jung Hyun-wook slowly walked toward the mound. It was a substitution. Seung-hwan Oh was replaced by left-hander Lee Seung-hyun. Seung-hwan Oh stayed on the mound for a moment, as if he was disappointed to be replaced, and then walked off with difficulty. He then showed his frustration by throwing the ball he had into the third base outfield netting. That wasn’t the end of it. Seung-hwan Oh walked into the dugout and slammed his glove down in frustration. Seung-hwan Oh has always been known for his poker face, so this display of anger was highly unusual.
Samsung’s head coach, Park Jin-man, had a meeting with him and eventually decided to send him to the second team. Already a living legend in Korean baseball, Oh Seung-hwan had been sent to the second team once before this season. Park decided to give him the start, and he made his first career start on March 3 against Daegu Kiwoom, giving up three runs on five hits (one home run) in five innings with six strikeouts. Oh was removed from the first team roster the next day and spent some time rebuilding in the second team. At the time, there was no particular reason for 메이저놀이터 추천 the move. He didn’t pitch in any second-team games and spent his time working on his personal training. On May 14, Oh Seung-hwan was reinstated to the first team roster and remained in the first team, but this time the situation was much different. Seung-hwan Oh has to be fully fit, and the decision to return to the first team has to be made by the manager.
Meanwhile, Oh has appeared in 23 games this season, posting a 2-2 record with nine saves and a 4.23 ERA. In 27⅔ innings pitched, he has allowed 33 hits (five home runs), eight walks, 20 strikeouts, and 14 runs (13 earned). It will be interesting to see when Oh Seung-hwan comes back from his rehabilitation, but Samsung will definitely be stronger if the ‘veteran’ performs better.
