Bae Ji-hwan (23, Pittsburgh Pirates) reached base twice with a single and a walk. For the third straight game.
Bae went 1-for-3 with a walk, a hit, a stolen base, and a run scored in the eighth inning of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 2023 Major League Baseball 스포츠토토 (MLB) home game against the Oakland Athletics at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S., on Aug. 8.
Bae’s season batting average increased slightly from .275 to .276 (163-for-45).
Trailing 7-1 in the bottom of the third inning, Bae led off the inning with an infield single off a cut fastball from starter Hogan Harris. It was the third straight game his quick feet have produced a hit.
After a grounder to shortstop in the fourth and a straight hit to center field in the seventh, Bae drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the ninth, trailing 9-4. He later scored his 29th run of the season.
In four games in June, Bae is 4-for-10 with two doubles, three RBIs, three runs scored and two stolen bases, continuing his upward trend from last month’s .304 (21-for-69) batting average. He had two or more hits in three straight games, including a 2-for-4 performance at St. Louis on May 5 and a 1-for-3 effort with a walk and a run scored at Oakland on May 6.
Pittsburgh, however, fell to 5-9 as starter Roansey Contreras was roughed up for seven runs on six hits and two walks while striking out one.
