Son Heung-min (Tottenham) received a deserved award. It is the ‘Asian Ballon d’Or’.
This award, called ‘Asia’s Ballon d’Or’, started in 2013 as an award given at the ‘Best Footballer in Asia’ awards ceremony hosted by the Chinese sports media ‘Titan Sports’. 스포츠토토
The award was inspired by the award given to the best player in the world by France’s ‘French Football’, the ‘Ballon d’Or’. In other words, it is an awards ceremony that selects the best players in Asia. Players who are active in countries or teams belonging to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) are eligible.
The 2022 winners have been announced. There were 25 candidates, but Son Heung-min was the prime minister anyway.
There are no rivals. It is a unique existence. Heung-Min Son is the only one in Asia to rise to the ‘New World’. In particular, Son Heung-min became the first Asian player to become the top scorer in the English Premier League (EPL) last season. No one in Asia can challenge this stronghold.
Not just this year. ‘Asia’s Ballon d’Or’ can be said to be an award created to dedicate to Son Heung-min. A total of 10 winners appeared until the 2022 award, of which 8 were Son Heung-min. Son Heung-min completed ‘8 Long d’Or’.
Keisuke Honda in 2013 and Shinji Okazaki in 2016 are the only two winners other than Son Heung-min. And Son Heung-min succeeded in winning the award for six consecutive years. In fact, it is no different from a personal image. It is a scene that makes you feel how overwhelming Son Heung-min is in Asia.
Son Heung-min is currently the only player recognized as a world class player in Asia. He is also the first record maker in Asia.
As mentioned earlier, Asia’s first EPL scorer, as well as the real Ballon d’Or ranking, not the Asian Ballon d’Or, also ranked 11th, the highest ever for an Asian player. He also ranked 19th in Asia’s top 100 in the UK’s leading newspaper ‘Guardian’. He also joined the “10-10 Club” for the first time in Asia in the EPL, and broke through the top 100 goals in the European big leagues. There are too many to list them all.
Son Heung-min is too big for Asia to embrace. Asia should thank him. Besides, Son Heung-min’s heyday is not yet over. He is moving towards the first ever ‘9 long d’or’. He still has no competitors.
